XXIII National Convention of the Bahá'ís of Belarus

On the first day of Ridvan, 4 Local Spiritual Assemblies were elected in Belarus, in the cities of Gomel, Minsk, Vitebsk and Zhodzina.

April 23rd and 24th were the dates of the XXIII National Convention of the Bahá'ís of Belarus.

Counsellor Aiste Elijio represented the Continental Board of Counsellors in Europe at the Convention. Newly appointed Auxiliary Board Members, Ilona Anzel and Veronika Medvedeva, were present as well.

On the first day of the Convention, the delegates discussed the Ridvan 2017 message of the Universal House of Justice. The second day was given to the election of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Belarus and consultations on the community growth. Among them, there were intensive programs of growth, youth participations in the world improving process, further work with junior youth and their parents.

The delegates and the participants at the Convention heard to the annual report of the National Assembly, along with the statistical and financial reports. The geography of the newly elected National Spiritual Assembly for the year of 174 became more diverse, with members from the cities of Vitebsk, Gomel, Kobryn, Minsk, Zhodzina, and from villages in the Borisov, Brest, and Minsk regions.

This year the National Convention was attended by the guests from neighboring Latvia and Lithuania. Also many children attending created a special mood at the devotional parts of the convention.
